The shape of a blower wheel's blades matters. When buildup coats those blades, you are changing the surface that is supposed to grab and move air. As contamination gets heavier, the blower may not move air as effectively as it would with a clean wheel. That can contribute to symptoms such as weak airflow from supply registers, longer cooling cycles, uneven temperatures throughout the home, additional strain on the blower system, and reduced overall HVAC performance. A dirty blower wheel isn't the only possible cause of airflow problems — duct sizing, dirty filters, coil condition, and system setup all matter too. That is why we don't recommend guessing. We look at the entire system.
