Way Cool Launches Home Performance Services to Boost Energy Efficiency for Phoenix Homeowners

Most Phoenix homeowners think a comfort problem is an AC problem. Sometimes it is. More often it's the house itself — and that's what Home Performance fixes.

Way Cool Launches Home Performance Services to Boost Energy Efficiency for Phoenix Homeowners

Way Cool Plumbing & Air has launched a dedicated Home Performance services division for Phoenix homeowners. We're leading with a free in-home Energy Audit for first-time customers — a 4-hour whole-home diagnostic that finds where your house is leaking conditioned air, wasting power, and shortening the life of your AC equipment.

What is Home Performance?

Home Performance treats your house as a complete energy system, not just a collection of equipment. The HVAC, the ductwork, the insulation, the windows, the air sealing, and the appliances all work together (or against each other). Home Performance work measures how the system is actually performing and prescribes targeted fixes that improve comfort and reduce bills.

What does the Home Energy Audit include?

Our 4-hour audit includes: utility bill analysis, attic and insulation inspection, blower-door test (measures envelope leakage), duct leakage test (measures duct system losses), thermal imaging (finds insulation gaps), smoke-pencil air-leak tracing, and combustion safety check on gas appliances. You leave with a written report and a prioritized fix list.

How much can I save with Home Performance work?

In our audits across Phoenix homes, we routinely measure 20–30% of conditioned air lost to duct leakage and envelope leaks combined. Sealing the worst offenders typically saves $50–$150/month in summer cooling costs alone. Add insulation top-offs, smart-thermostat zoning, and high-efficiency equipment, and the combined savings can be substantial.

Are there rebates available?

Yes. APS and SRP both offer rebate programs for high-efficiency HVAC, heat pumps, weatherization, and smart thermostats. The federal 25C tax credit covers up to $3,200/year for heat pumps, insulation, and energy audits. We track current programs and file the paperwork for you.

Why is the audit free for first-time customers?

Two reasons. One, it's the best way to start a customer relationship — you see exactly what's wrong with your house in measured numbers, and you decide what to do next. Two, finding the real problem usually leads to better, more honest recommendations than a sales-driven walkthrough would. We'd rather earn your trust over the next ten years than sell you a $14,000 system today.
